Job summary

Durango School District 9-R is seeking a Green Team Advisor for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves organizing and supervising the Green Team, coordinating meetings after school, and guiding student-led projects that highlight sustainability initiatives.

The stipend for the year is $1,000. Immediate starting date and ongoing collaboration with the Green Team Lead are expected, with opportunities to engage families and volunteers in district-wide environmental efforts.

Responsibilities

• Organize, facilitate, and supervise the Green Team for the school.
• Implement and facilitate the Green Team application process as developed by the Green Team Lead for the school district.
• Hold Green Team meetings after school twice per month, each at least 45 minutes long.
• Facilitate the project selection process and develop a yearly work plan with student input.
• Assist students in planning school events highlighting Green Team initiatives.
• Help students create a quarterly newsletter about their progress.
• Coordinate with the Green Team Lead; attend monthly meetings.
• Participate in the start-of-year kickoff and end-of-year celebrations.
• Recruit volunteers and communicate with parents/guardians.
