Job summary

King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) seeks a Water Quality Planner/Project Manager III with landscape design expertise to support capital projects and programs. This role blends office and field work to ensure landscape designs meet project goals, code requirements, and maintenance needs for WTD infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Two years of training in landscape construction and/or design or related technical fields.
• Two years of work experience in landscape design, construction inspection, or professional landscaping.
• Experience reading and interpreting landscape drawings and specifications.
• Extensive knowledge of western Washington ornamental and wild plant identification.
• Knowledge of green stormwater infrastructure design and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide subject matter expertise in review and development of landscape design drawings and specifications for capital projects.
• Inspect landscape construction activities to ensure conformance with drawings and specs.
• Review contractor submittals related to landscape elements.
• Coordinate landscaping work with project teams, contractors, external consultants, and operational staff to support successful outcomes.
• Inspect maintenance of Green Stormwater Infrastructure facilities.
• Help solve landscape design, construction, and maintenance issues.
