GrayWolf Integrated Construction Company is seeking a Field Engineer to support a range of heavy industrial projects across multiple sites (GA, AL, IN, SC, NC). This full-time role is project-assigned with per diem eligibility for distances beyond 60 miles from the permanent address, including a strong benefits package.

The position focuses on on-site execution and aims to develop toward a Project Manager role.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management with 2+ years of multidisciplinary construction experience.
• Alternatively, 5+ years of similar construction experience in industrial environments (pulp & paper, chemical, power, or heavy industrial).
• Experience in scheduling, cost tracking, RFIs, take-offs/quantities, and estimating is key.

• Prepare, review, or validate project estimates, scopes of work, and contracts with owners, engineers, and estimators.
• Provide oversight of field activities to ensure installations meet contract documents, quality standards, schedule, and budgets.
• Coordinate construction activities with Owners, Engineers, or OEMs and with owner operations.
• Monitor productivity and verify earned value for progress payments, updates, and contractor claims.
• Serve as front-line technical liaison for Owner and Engineers.
• Update project schedules and generate status reports.

GrayWolf is seeking Field Engineers for Multi-Sites (GA, AL, IN, SC, NC). These are salaried roles that are project assigned and eligible for Per Diem greater than 60-miles from Perm Address. Full benefits including time off is offered 1st of the month following hire. If you are seeking a project assigned role - we seek entry level to experienced Field Engineers.

Summary:

GrayWolf is seeking a Field Engineer with experience supporting a range of projects in the Heavy Industrial Sector. This position interacts with customers, engineers, field supervision and suppliers to plan work and resolve field issues. A Field Engineer will serve construction projects and is expected to be full time on the project site. This position is intended as a development role with a defined career path toward becoming a Project Manager.

Essential Functions

• Interact with owners, engineers, and estimators to prepare, review, or validate project estimates, scopes of work, and contracts.
• Provide oversight of field activities to ensure installations are accurately built to established contract documents and quality standards, on schedule, and within budgets.
• Coordinate construction activities with Owners, Engineers, or OEMs, including ongoing owner operations and other construction activities by others.
• Monitor productivity and verify earned value for progress payments, updates, and contractor claims.
• Recognize and initiate key steps in the Change Order Management process.
• Update project schedules and generate status reports.
• Act as front-line technical liaison for Owner and Engineers.
• Provide technical analysis and recommendation to GrayWolf front line supervision.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management with (2) or more years of multidisciplinary construction experience OR Minimum (5) years of similar construction experience in industrial environments such as pulp & paper, chemical, power, or heavy industrial, with background in scheduling and project controls. Experience in cost tracking, RFI, Take-Offs/Quantities, Estimating will be key in selecting the right candidate. Seeking new in career to and experienced Field Engineer.
• NCCER Certifications preferred but not required
• OSHA 10/30 preferred but not required

Desired Skills or Knowledge

• Logical and reasoned evaluation of field conditions and possible solutions.
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate work across a broad range of personnel, supervision, craft, engineers and project managers. Must be collaborative and able to openly engage with colleagues to achieve project goals.
• Ability to direct subcontractors and other 3 rd party agents.
• Must be very well-organized and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be flexible with day-to-day duties and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Able to translate technical concepts to broader audience.
• Experience in O365 – Sharepoint, Teams, Excel (experience with formulas, pivot tables, graphs, charts) is required.

Physical/Site Requirements:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required. This job site requires long sleeves
