Job summary

Graywolf Integrated Construction Company is seeking an Electrical Helper for our Cameron, LA project site. This full-time role supports field crews on heavy industrial and commercial construction projects, assisting with wiring, conduit installation, and electrical tasks.

The ideal candidate will have basic blueprint reading skills, a commitment to safety, and the stamina to work up to 12-hour shifts in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum heavy industrial field experience as an Electrical Helper.
• Must have locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret P&ID/blue prints and make competent decisions based on plans.
• Measure, lay out, and install conduit and wiring.
• Identify conduit, hardware, and cable tray; mount junction boxes.
• Install ground lugs and lugs on large cables as required.
• Perform cad weld grinding and general electrical tasks per supervisor.

• Electrical Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with electricity. Select the proper applications for different types of voltages (i.e. 24, 120,240,480,600,12,800 61kv
• Electrician Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools in a safe manner.
• P&ID / Blue Print Reading – Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Working knowledge of National Electric Code
• Have sound knowledge of, understand and use Lock- out tag -out procedures
• Identify conduit and hardware
• Measure, cut and thread conduit
• Pull cable and wire conduit
• Identify cable tray and hardware
• Fabricate and install hangars and brackets
• Mount junction boxes
• Figure, cut and install cable tray with offsets
• Perform cad weld grinding
• Figure offsets, bend and install conduit
• Identify types and sizes of wire, cable insulation and color code of multi-conductor
• Identify electrical meters and instruments
• Install ground lugs
• Install lugs on 4/0 and larger cable
• Other duties by trade and assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Four (2) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as an Electrical Helper.
• Must have locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
