Job summary

Graywolf is seeking an Electrical Helper for our Catawba, SC project site. The role requires 2+ years of heavy industrial field experience and the ability to read P&ID drawings, blueprints, and NEC references.

You will work with a safety-conscious team, handling conduit, wiring, and electrical installations while following lockout/tagout procedures. The position is based on site with potential for longer assignments and varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Responsibilities

• Electrical safety on site and hazard awareness.
• Operate hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools safely.
• Read P&ID, drawings, and blueprints to make informed decisions.
• Identify conduit and hardware and read wire/Cable schedules.
• Understand and apply lockout/tagout procedures.
• Read and interpret NEC requirements.
• Identify and install conduit, trays and junction boxes.
• Read wire schedules and assist with basic electrical installations.

Graywolf is seeking Electrical Helper at our Catawba, SC project site

Essential Duties:

• Electrical Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with electricity. Select the proper applications for different types of voltages (i.e. 24, 120,240,480,600,12,800 61kv
• Electrician Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools in a safe manner.
• P&ID / Blue Print Reading – Correctly reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals and/or blue prints and makes competent decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Working knowledge of National Electric Code
• Have sound knowledge of, understand and use Lock- out tag -out procedures
• Identify conduit and hardware
• Measure, cut and thread conduit
• Pull cable and wire conduit
• Identify cable tray and hardware
• Fabricate and install hangars and brackets
• Mount junction boxes
• Figure, cut and install cable tray with offsets
• Perform cad weld grinding
• Figure offsets, bend and install conduit
• Identify types and sizes of wire, cable insulation and color code of multi-conductor
• Identify electrical meters and instruments
• Install ground lugs
• Install lugs on 4/0 and larger cable
• Read wire/cable schedules
• Other duties by trade and assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Four (2) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as an Electrical Helper.
• Must have locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Physical/Site Requirements:

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
