Overview
Operates Gravure Press to produce “Best In Class” packaging for domestic and international use.
Responsibilities
- Operates Press to develop end-result printed material in accordance with customer specifications.
- Operate Press, troubleshoot and monitor operation.
- Prepare Press by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product by precise control of feeding, adjusting color to match customer goals, register and clean product to exceed expectations. Be knowledgeable of all functions of the Offset Press.
- Perform make-ready tasks utilizing quick and easy settings for high productivity and precision operations, resolve defects and adjustments to produce a high quality product.
- Work with General Technicians on equipment.
- Make adjustments, clear jams, while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.
- Ensure efficient and rapid make ready, with unloading and loading.
Quality
- Ensure the quality of jobs completed by reviewing for quality and accuracy. Ensure jobs are complete and error free.
- Ensure finished product exceeds customer expectations.
- Ensure all checklists are completed.
- Support and communicate all ISO standards and quality objectives to the Press Team.
EH&S and Cleanliness
- Ensure complete adherence and compliance to the EHS and Clean policies. Assist team members in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain and follow all company safety policies for safety, personal protection and hazardous materials/waste handling according to established guidelines.
- Follow PPE procedures at all times in designated areas and for tasks requiring PPE.
- Follow procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous materials/waste.
- Maintain proper uniform and use company-provided safety lifting equipment as required.
- Regularly inspect work areas to keep them safe and neat; store and arrange work areas to maintain cleanliness and safety per rules for grounding, spill clean-up, etc.
- Demonstrate ability to maintain a safe work area and coach crew in safe practices.
Communications
- Interact with the team and co-workers in a respectful manner that promotes cooperation and performance.
- Communicate accurate information to all team members in a professional and courteous manner.
- Accept direction and feedback from supervisor and follow through accordingly.

- Communicate regularly with the team toward goals and required results, providing feedback and corrective action when needed.
- Motivate crew to improve quantity and quality of work and provide training as required.
- Use appropriate established communication channels; conduct team meetings as necessary.
- Must be able to perform any additional tasks as required by Department Leads, Shift Leads, or Management.
Requirements
- High School diploma (or GED).
- Minimum of 3 years of equipment operation.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and mathematical skills to compute percentages, weights and measures.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking.
- Frequent lifting in excess of 60 lbs.
- Manual dexterity; able to manipulate product and equipment safely.
- Look for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and good eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to rotate shifts and work extended hours per week as needed to meet product needs.
