Job summary

Amcor is seeking a press line assistant at our Lancaster, Wisconsin facility. You will support operation of press lines, assist with setup, change-overs, run and shut-down tasks, and help ensure printed material meets specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience is required.
• Ability to understand a computer and basic programs.

• Proactive approach to keeping production moving and meeting specs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation of press lines including change-overs, machine start-up, running and shut-down.
• Support operations in achieving World Class manufacturing with emphasis on Safety.
• Assist operator in ensuring printed material meets customer, manufacturing, print specifications and color folders.
• Assist operator in setting up jobs according to SOCs and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Assist operator in ensuring all materials (inks, stocks, cylinders, cores, aniloxes) are ready for the next job.
• Work with press operator to minimize job change-over and downtime.
• Assist maintenance to get the machine back on line and productive.
• Adhere to 5S and World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

• Assistants will aid in all aspects of operation of Press lines including change-overs, machine start-up, running and shut-down.
• Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
• Assist operator in running all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, print specification, color folders and standard operating procedures
• Assist operator in setting up jobs according to established S.O.C.'s (standard operating conditions), and to report and follow up on any discrepancies to the supervisor
• Assist operator in ensuring all printed material if free of defects
• Ensure all jobs are run in accordance to all written specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, print specs, color folders and standard operating conditions
• Work with press operator to minimize job change-over and down time
• Make every effort to see that all materials such as inks, stocks, cylinders, cores, and aniloxes are ready for the next job
• Assist and aid maintenance to get the machine back on line and productive.
• Work with the press operator, manufacturing specialist and press supervisor to understand and complete each level of the assistant training matrix on time.
• While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.
• Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work)
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs
• Willing and able to stand and walk for an 8/12 hour shift
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
• Frequent use of wrist and hands
• Frequent stepping up and down from platforms
