Job summary

States Industries Panel Plant in Eugene, OR is seeking a Graveyard Sander Operator/Grader to support sanding operations across #1 and #2 sanders. You will ensure wood is sanded and graded according to priorities, participate in safety and continuous improvement, and collaborate with QC and other teams to meet production goals.

The role requires experience with Sanders, ability to follow procedures, and willingness to work night shifts as needed.

Graveyard Sander Operator# Graveyard Sander OperatorStates Industries Panel Plant - Eugene, OR 97402## OverviewSalary Range$24.50 - $27.50 HourlyPosition TypeFull TimeJob ShiftGraveyardTravel PercentageNone## Description**SUMMARY:**Operate & Grade on the Sanders as principal job, help with sustaining TWI trained Sander Operators and Graders and be actively involved in achieving safety, quality and production goals. Work to continuously improve the Sander Operation.**SANDER OPERATOR/GRADER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Operate/Grade on the #1 or #2 Sander as principal responsibility.* Ensure that wood is sanded/grade according to flow or other priorities as assigned.* Help organize breaking schedule through the Central Department.* Be actively involved in all Sander quality and production issues. This includes working with other sanding crews, Coaches, Mentors, Coordinators, other work centers, and the Quality department for continuous improvement.* Work with all operators on updating the Sander POS’s and TWI.* Must maintain 98% audit percentage.* Must complete JSA’s and Certification for Putty & Sander to be Certified in area.* Use all available resources to continually improve the Sanding operations: + Take necessary classes on your own to improve your skills. + Work with suppliers + D-365 + Other resources as they become available.* Assist in developing and implementing testing processes. This includes working with suppliers, QC department and educating other operators in the testing processes.* Assist in new processes as needed such as new customer requests.* Perform preventative maintenance and make minor operating adjustments as needed.* Attending Grader meetings, be a certified grader* Read and interpret grade rules for face and back veneers on finished and unfinished panels* General housekeeping of machine and immediate area.* Must follow all safety rules.* Must attend and be active in weekly team meetings.* Must support the team in achieving all Safety, Production, Quality & Lean goals.* Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor## Qualifications**QUALIFICATIONS:**To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
