Job Description

$15.00 - $19.00 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness, and product assortment are maintained throughout the store, specifically in the grocery department. This person will be receiving, stocking, rotating products, facing products, taking special orders, and providing exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures.
• Ensure the quality and freshness of all products and services provided by the grocery department.
• Maintain appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the grocery department.
• Confirm pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items.
• Ensure the store is cleaned daily and meets company standards for appearance.
• Deliver excellent customer service to all customers.
• Receive, store, and stock a wide variety of products for the grocery department.
• Remove out-of-date products from shelves.
• Build end-cap and other special product displays.
• Assist the Grocery Manager with ordering products based on past and projected sales.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Set a professional and positive example for others.
• Assist as needed to ensure the success of the store as a whole.

MINOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:

• Interact daily with store associates, customers, and vendors.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

The work environment is generally safe and comfortable but may involve exposure to cold, hot, slippery, and wet conditions. Employees are regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, reach, perform repetitive motions, and coordinate eye, hand, and foot movements. Standing, walking, bending, and maneuvering objects weighing up to 50 pounds are also required.
