Job summary

The Minnesota DFL Party is hiring a full-time African Immigrant Coalition Organizer to engage diverse communities across Minnesota and support state and local campaigns, including efforts to re-elect Attorney General Keith Ellison. The role focuses on organizing events, house parties, and direct voter contact within African immigrant communities.

As part of the Coalitions team, you will work under the Coalitions Director, travel as needed, and contribute to building culturally relevant events

• Ability to act as an ambassador for the campaign.

• Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Access to a reliable vehicle. Travel will be required.
• Ability to work long hours, including afternoons/evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and build grassroots events to engage volunteers and potential voters such as house parties, meet-n-greets, canvasses (door knocks), rallies, relational outreach, and culturally tailored events.
• Serve as an ambassador for the campaign at already established community events engaging stakeholders and potential voters.
• Work with other organizers, candidates, campaign staff, organizing units, and organizations from across the state.
• Must be able to hit metric goals on a weekly basis including Direct Voter Contact, volunteer recruitment, and event building.
• Will be supervised by the Coalitions Director.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Organizing Director or Campaign Manager.
