Job summary

Environment New Jersey is hiring a Clean Water Associate to build public support for our clean water campaigns in New Jersey.

We’re working to protect and restore our state’s rivers, lakes and streams from major sources of pollution and to protect our drinking water, including campaigns to reduce toxic PFAS pollution and replace lead service lines, as well as continuing our work to protect our watersheds from the regional impacts of fracking.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Travel regularly and be able to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Educate and mobilize public support.
• Build coalitions with organizations and groups.
• Earn traditional media and social media attention.
• Organize events and recruit volunteers.
• Lobby elected officials to advance campaign goals.
• Research and write reports relevant to issues and policy proposals.
• Recruit new people to the team, including volunteers and interns.
• Run a grassroots campaign office during the summer and meet fundraising goals.
