Job summary

Emerald Energy and Exploration Land Company is seeking a GIS Technician to manage computer graphics tasks, maintain spatial data, and prepare maps, sketches and diagrams. You will support data entry and ensure accuracy of the GIS database.

You will gather information from field notes, drawings and manuals, resolve discrepancies, and maintain organized data for reporting and asset records. The role emphasizes attention to detail and proficiency with GIS tools, underpinning land management

Qualifications

• Responsible to perform computer graphics duties to maintain data, prepare maps, sketches, diagrams and other technical drawings and reports.
• Interpret and enter field data into GIS, and various support functions.
• Performs methods of data capture including the creation/downloading of land parcels, obtaining current base maps, locating pertinent cultural and environmental data, and various other support functions as needed to ensure a correct and complete spatial and tabular database.
• Create, revise and maintain technical data used for reports maps and sketches, and maintain material and property equipment records.
• Obtain information required to perform work from multiple resources including; verbal/electronic communications, sketches, marked drawings, field notes and technical reference manuals.
• Work to resolve discrepancies to assure that data reflects accurate field conditions.
• Responsible for the organization, collection, maintenance and consistency of data for the GIS.

Responsibilities

• Perform computer graphics duties to maintain data and prepare maps, sketches, diagrams and other technical drawings.
• Enter field data into GIS and provide related support functions.
• Capture data including land parcels, base maps and cultural/environmental data to ensure a complete spatial/database.
• Create and maintain technical data for reports, maps and sketches, and keep records for materials and equipment.
• Gather information from verbal/electronic sources, sketches, field notes and manuals to perform work accurately.
• Resolve data discrepancies to reflect accurate field conditions.

Job description

The Graphic Information System (GIS) Technician:
