Job summary

PPC Flex is seeking a Graphics Designer to handle and store graphic files and assets, supporting the production of flexible packaging materials. The role involves preparing art files for various print methods and ensuring adherence to quality procedures.

You will work with the Graphics team to resolve print issues, improve workflows, and assist with signage and promotional materials as needed. Strong software knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in information inputs.
• Flexographic printing experience and mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Knowledge of Apple, Adobe (PDF, Illustrator, Photoshop), ES KO and Microsoft Office platforms.
• Able to read and understand work orders and convey direction to graphics suppliers.
• Capable of basic mathematical calculations and using a tape measure.
• Flexibility to address changing priorities to meet customer and production needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication; team experience and continuous improvement skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Check all software and hardware at shift start/end and coordinate with IT.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Prepare digital art files for Flexographic, Offset and Digital printing.
• Assemble pre-flight files and adjust to dieline requirements and print tolerances.
• Receive or post files via PPC platform or other file systems.
• Pre-flight evaluation of art files for print readiness.
• Follow QC procedures to ensure proper processing for print production.
• Collaborate with Graphics team to avoid production issues and meet schedules.
• Suggest improvements to workflows, templates, and archiving.
• Assist with art for signage, documents and promotional materials as needed.
• Provide guidance to designers regarding files, fonts, and elements.
• Stay current on software/hardware upgrades to improve workflow.
• Cover for other Graphics team members during vacations/sick days.
