Job summary

3D Exhibits seeks a skilled Graphic Designer to create visuals for trade show exhibits and experiential campaigns. You will work independently from concept through client approval, adapting client brand assets and occasionally delivering original concepts within brand guidelines.

This full-time, in-person role is based in Schaumburg, IL, with responsibility for 3–5 projects simultaneously and collaboration with exhibit designers, PMs, and accounts to meet client goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of graphic design experience, with exposure to trade show, exhibit, or experiential marketing work.
• Demonstrated ability to work with existing client brand assets and guidelines, and generate original concepts when needed.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Solid understanding of large-format print production standards and file setup (bleed, resolution, color profiles) for handoff to production.
• Strong knowledge of color management including Pantone matching, CMYK/RGB conversions, ICC profiles across substrates.
• Comfortable reading/working from CAD/architectural drawings or booth renderings.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure.
• Strong typography, layout, and brand-consistency skills.
• Portfolio demonstrating exhibits, signage, or spatial design within brand systems.

Responsibilities

Summary

We're seeking a Graphic Designer with solid hands-on experience to create visual assets for trade show exhibits, event environments, and experiential marketing campaigns. This role requires someone who can work independently on projects from concept through client approval, translate and repurpose client-supplied brand assets effectively, and occasionally develop original design concepts within established brand guidelines.
This position will support our 3D Exhibits team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Schaumburg, IL.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Design graphics for exhibit booths, backdrops, banners, signage, kiosks, and other large-format displays with minimal oversight
• Take client-provided logos, photography, brand assets, and style guides and adapt them effectively for exhibit and event applications
• Develop new design concepts and layouts within a client's existing brand guidelines when no pre-built assets are available
• Translate brand guidelines into cohesive visual concepts for physical spaces, offering creative input beyond execution
• Partner with exhibit designers, project managers, and account teams to align graphics to achieve client goals
• Present design concepts for client review and incorporate feedback through to final approval
• Adapt and scale existing brand assets across varied booth sizes and configurations
• Manage 3–5 concurrent projects under tight deadlines, moving on to new projects once files are handed off to production
• Prepare approved designs into production-ready files (correct bleed, resolution, color profiles, and file formats) and hand off to the graphic production team
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3–5 years of graphic design experience, with meaningful exposure to trade show, exhibit, or experiential marketing work
• Demonstrated ability to work with existing client brand assets and guidelines, as well as generating original concepts when needed
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Solid understanding of large-format print production standards and file setup (bleed, resolution, color profiles) for handoff to a production team
• Strong working knowledge of color management, including Pantone matching, CMYK/RGB conversions, ICC profiles, and how color behaves across different substrates and surfaces
• Comfortable reading and working from CAD/architectural drawings or booth renderings
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities under deadline pressure
• Strong typography, layout, and brand-consistency skills
• Portfolio demonstrating a range of exhibits, signage, or spatial design work, including examples of working within existing brand systems
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the Business Services industry
• Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment
• Customer/client facing collaboration
• Experience with motion graphics or content for LED/video walls
• Familiarity with exhibit design software (SketchUp, Vectorworks) or rendering tools
• Understanding of the general trade show production process (even without direct vendor coordination experience)
• Adobe Dimension or basic 3D visualization skills
