Job summary

The Freeman Company is seeking a Graphic Designer to create visual assets for trade show exhibits, event environments, and experiential marketing campaigns. You will work independently from concept to client approval, translating brand assets and occasionally producing original concepts within brand guidelines.

This in-person role supports the 3D Exhibits team, with full-time, in-office work in Schaumburg, IL, and occasional show-site activity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of graphic design experience in trade show, exhibit, or experiential marketing work.
  • Ability to work with existing client brand assets and guidelines and generate original concepts.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Understanding of large-format print production standards and file setup.
  • Knowledge of color management, Pantone matching, CMYK/RGB conversions, and ICC profiles.
  • Ability to read CAD/architectural drawings or booth renderings.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong typography, layout, and brand-consistency skills.
  • Portfolio showing exhibits, signage, or spatial design within brand systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design graphics for exhibit booths, backdrops, banners, signage, kiosks, and other large-format displays.
  • Adapt client-provided logos, photography, and brand assets for exhibit and event use.
  • Develop new concepts within established brand guidelines when assets are not available.
  • Translate brand guidelines into cohesive visual concepts for physical spaces.
  • Collaborate with exhibit designers, project managers, and account teams to meet client goals.
  • Present concepts for client review and incorporate feedback to final approval.
  • Adapt assets across varied booth sizes and configurations.
  • Manage 3–5 concurrent projects under deadlines and hand off files to production.
  • Prepare production-ready files with correct bleed, resolution, color profiles, and formats.
