Job summary

For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Qualifications

BA/BS Degree in Bachelor?s degree in graphic design, visual communications, museum studies, or related field preferred.

Duties

The Interpretive Specialist will work as part of a collaborative team developing interpretive panels and exhibits for the B Reactor. This role involves partnering closely with the interpretive writer to design and layout interpretive panels, source images, and create graphics that visually communicate complex scientific concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.

  • Source Images and Graphics Identify and select appropriate images and visual elements to support interpretive content. Comply with copyright laws and secure image use rights when needed.30%
  • Develop Original Graphics Create new graphics and illustrations that simplify and convey complex scientific ideas.20%
  • Participate in Planning Meetings Engage in regular team meetings to review progress, share ideas, and ensure alignment with project goals.10%

  • Required Certifications: ??Use of a government computer may be required for this position. Successful applicant must pass a background check and complete an on-line Information Management and Technology Awareness training. ?
  • Overnight travel: Occasionally
  • Air travel anticipated: As needed to reach the four MAPR locations from the enrollee?s location.
