Job summary

Kentucky Printing is seeking a hands-on Graphic Design, Prepress & Customer Service Associate to support print production from file intake through finishing. You will proof and troubleshoot customer files, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with customers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

Expect to work with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat on onsite projects in Richmond, KY. The role emphasizes attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple jobs

• Preferred experience in prepress, graphic design, commercial printing, or related field.
• Open to candidates with strong foundational skills who are eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, proof, and troubleshoot customer files for print production.
• Review files for production readiness, including sizing, bleeds, resolution, fonts, color, and other required specifications.
• Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements, resolve file problems, answer questions, and manage turnaround expectations.
• Operate digital production presses and prepare completed jobs for the next stage of production.
• Follow assigned work from file intake through production and finishing.
• Make minor customer-requested artwork or file corrections when needed.
• Learn and use in-house prepress, estimating, and workflow systems.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure jobs remain accurate and are completed on schedule.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Comfort working with PDFs and customer-supplied artwork
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and able to handle multiple jobs at once
• Comfort learning new software and production equipment
• Ability to take ownership of a job and see it through to completion

Compensation

Pay: $13.00 to $19.00 per hour. Competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience.
