Job summary

Drake University's Department of Art and Design seeks an Adjunct Instructor in Graphic Design for the spring semester of 2027. The successful candidate will teach Introductory Typography to Art and Design students using current software and computer platforms.

The position will instruct students in contemporary graphic design workflows using Adobe software on Apple OS, and provide timely, constructive feedback on concepts, form, technique and professional practice.

Qualifications

• MA / MFA, BA / BFA in Graphic Design or related art field and evidence of teaching effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Teach Introductory Typography to Art and Design students using current software and platforms.
• Instruct students in contemporary graphic design workflow processes using Adobe software on Apple OS.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on concepts, formal aspects, technical work, and professional practices.
