Job summary

Shelter House is seeking a Grant Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of grants—from prospect research and proposal development to submission, reporting, and compliance. You will work with the Director of Grants Management to coordinate timelines, grant systems, and documentation, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.

You will maintain funder relationships, track deadlines, and support collaboration across programs, finance, and leadership to secure successful grant outcomes.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and stakeholders with professionalism.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) and Adobe; CRM systems are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the full lifecycle of grants management, from prospect research to submission and compliance.
• Coordinate timelines, manage grant systems and documentation, and ensure high-quality submissions.
• Maintain funder relationships and track deadlines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with programs, finance, and leadership to ensure successful grant applications and implementation.
• Prepare and review budgets, budgets narratives, and supporting documents.
• Schedule planning meetings and coordinate communications with staff.
