Job summary

Shelter House, Inc seeks a Grant Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of grants, from prospect research to submission and reporting. The role collaborates with the Director of Grants Management to advance the organization's grants strategy, track deadlines, and coordinate across programs, finance, and leadership to ensure successful grant applications and implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1–2 years of grants experience preferred.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and stakeholders professionally.
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word) and Adobe; CRM experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the grant strategy and lifecycle in collaboration with leadership.
• Manage pre-award, submission, award, and post-award activities.
• Review solicitations, RFPs, and funder guidelines; monitor updates and addenda.
• Create timelines, trackers, and calendars to meet deadlines.
• Draft and submit proposals, LOIs, reports, and attachments with the Director.
• Coordinate grant materials and ensure consistency between budgets and narratives.
• Track deliverables and reporting deadlines; support site visits and audits.
