Project Open Hand (POH) seeks a Manager, Grants to lead a portfolio of institutional funders in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The role collaborates with program teams to align proposals with POH priorities and donor expectations.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in development, with strong writing, leadership and stewardship capabilities across corporate, foundation and government donors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of development experience including healthcare, HIV/AIDS, seniors/aging, or nutrition.
  • Experience in foundation, corporate and government grant seeking in Northern California.
  • Familiarity with budget preparation, analysis and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Build institutional support by writing letters of inquiry and submitting proposals.
  • Manage Grants Associates, consultants, interns and volunteers to meet goals.
  • Oversee grants budget and allocate resources for the department.
  • Develop grant funding strategies with executive leadership.
  • Conduct prospect research and funder landscape analysis.
  • Track outcomes and support future fundraising strategy.
  • Lead moves management and briefing meetings with stakeholders.
  • Represent POH at donor events and industry activities.
