The Grants Administration Officer in the City of Long Beach’s Department of Public Works leads internal grant coordination, opportunity assessment, and complex applications. This role interfaces with external agencies and the Mayor’s Office to advance funding priorities and inform decision makers.

You will manage grant funds tracking, supervise staff, and support major infrastructure initiatives such as Elevate ’28 and Renew ’32 through strong program leadership and cross‑agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional grant management experience.
• One year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree required; substitutions allowed as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Identify Federal, State, County, and other grant opportunities for CIP projects.
• Oversee the Department's most critical and complex grant applications.
• Coordinate with the Government Affairs Office and external funding partners.
