Job summary

Centerstone, a leading nonprofit behavioral health system in the United States, seeks a skilled Proposal Writer to support development and submission of competitive grants and contracts. You will conduct research, draft and format components, and coordinate with leadership to ensure proposals meet funder specifications.

The role emphasizes strong technical writing, data integration, and project management within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, communications, or a related field.
• At least two years of technical, grant, proposal, and/or academic writing experience.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills; ability to compile and present data and statistics.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe software for document preparation and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and submit grant and contract proposals aligned with Centerstone priorities.
• Research funders, prior awards, and competitive landscapes to inform proposals.
• Coordinate proposal components, timelines, and milestones with team leaders.
• Edit and format narratives to ensure clarity, persuasiveness, and compliance with funder guidelines.
• Prepare resumes, job descriptions, charts, and tables as needed for proposals.
• Track proposal status and participate in debriefs to improve future submissions.
