Job summary

Harris & Associates seeks a California State Grants Specialist with at least 2 years’ experience working with California state funding programs and strong knowledge of school facility regulations to manage the grant application and reporting process from start to finish.

You will research regulations, identify funding opportunities, prepare grant applications, coordinate with auditors, and maintain organized records while collaborating with internal teams and external agencies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with California state funding programs.
• Deep understanding of school facility program regulations and public construction requirements.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Microsoft Excel and data spreadsheet experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and interpret California State regulations related to school facility funding.
• Identify and evaluate available funding opportunities.
• Prepare and submit accurate grant applications and all related documentation.
• Prepare and/or support preparation of expense reports for auditors.
• Collaborate with internal teams, attorneys, CPAs, and administrative agencies to gather required information.
• Maintain organized records of all grant-related materials.
• Work with IT staff to define data requirements and support grant tracking systems.
• Communicate clearly and effectively across departments to ensure compliance with funding guidelines.
