Job Summary
The Grants Program Manager plays a critical role in stewarding the effective implementation, compliance, and relationship management of Indigenized Energy’s funded projects. Working in close partnership with the Grants and Contracts Manager and program teams, this position ensures that grant-funded initiatives are executed with excellence, that partners meet their contractual obligations, and that strong relationships are maintained with tribal partners and funders. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, a compliance mindset, and a people-centered approach to managing cross-sector partnerships.
Areas of Responsibilities
Grant-Funded Project Management (35%)
Lead post-award project planning and execution for Indigenized Energy and tribal-led grant initiatives.
Manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with internal teams and tribal partners.
Support teams in translating grant goals into actionable, measurable work plans.
Monitor project performance and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with program leads.
Compliance and Risk Oversight (25%)
Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and private grantor requirements.
Maintain up-to-date systems for tracking obligations, deadlines, certifications, and reports.
Conduct internal reviews and support site visits or audits by external funders.
Develop training and tools to support compliance among tribal partners and vendors.
Client & Funder Relationship Management (20%)
Serve as a primary relationship manager with grantors, subcontractors, and tribal partners during project implementation.
Coordinate communications and updates to external stakeholders, including progress reports and site visit planning.
Build and maintain trust-based relationships with tribal governments and funders.
Represent Indigenized Energy in project meetings, funder check-ins, and collaborative gatherings.
Contract Execution and Partner Coordination (10%)
Support contract development, monitoring, and performance evaluation alongside the Grants and Contracts Manager.
Coordinate timelines, documentation, and deliverables with subcontractors and consultants.
Ensure grant-funded work aligns with both the contract language and tribal/community needs.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (10%)
Collaborate with tribal partners and program staff to collect data and stories that reflect grant impact.
Maintain organized systems for outcome tracking and evidence documentation.
Draft high-quality interim and final narrative reports in partnership with tribal partners and program teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, Master’s degree desired
5+ years of experience in project management, grant administration, including grant writing and related government contracts management.
Familiarity and experience working with national funders focused on renewable energy, education, and/or workforce development preferred
Experience working in a startup or non-profit organization
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills
Enthusiastic team player who understands the dynamic of working in a matrixed organization
Outgoing with ability to provide excellent customer service to staff and external partners
Excellent critical thinker and problem solver; able to make solid judgments and decisions

Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000 per year and is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
