Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with Accounting major required
• 3 years of accounting experience; supervisory experience preferred
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Manages and supervises the Procurement Card Specialist position; perform staff evaluations.
• Ensures grants conform to deadlines; monitors actual versus budgeted expenditures and reports variances.
• Provides support to Grant Administrators; acts as district administrator for local funded grants; creates charge code accounts, budgets, invoices, and documentation for reporting and reimbursement.
• Assists in compiling year-end entries for DOE filings and CAFR preparation.
• Compiles and prepares grant financial reports; handles AR billing and GADOE drawdowns.
• Attends grant training to stay current on accounting practices.
• Coordinates, analyzes, and prepares grant data for annual audits and State Government Audits.
• Prepares Internal Board Monitoring Reports and CAFR-related analysis; assists with financial preparation of the CAFR.
• Updates financial procedures related to grants and communicates grant information to district personnel.
• Serves as backup for the General Accountant and Financial Accounting Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
