Job summary

University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine is seeking a Grants Manager A to support the research activities of Principal Investigators. The role manages sponsored funds from pre‑award through post‑award, ensuring compliance with sponsor and university policies and providing comprehensive financial stewardship.

Responsibilities include budget reconciliation, salary grid maintenance, payroll and costing allocation support, and routine review of expenditures with PIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 3-5 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with sponsored programs, grants management or university research administration is desired.
• Strong financial stewardship, budget reconciliation, payroll and costing allocation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage sponsored program funds through full award lifecycle, from pre-award to closeout.
• Oversee pre-award process: proposal development, budget preparation, documentation, sponsor compliance, and submission activities.
• Post-award responsibilities include award setup, ongoing financial management, monitoring expenditures, salary allocations, effort reporting, reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
