Job summary

The Kresge Foundation seeks a Grants Manager to audit all grant components in the Foundation’s grants management system, ensuring budget alignment, compliance, program and geographic coding, and timely reporting. You will lead day-to-day grantmaking processes and train staff in grants-management practices for efficient use of resources.

You will coordinate with internal teams, manage grant-related projects, and monitor progress to meet success metrics, while upholding the Foundation’s mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Seven or more years in a progressive mission-driven organization.
• Experience in grants management and in a grants management system.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to plan, motivate and monitor progress with key partners.
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Advanced MS Excel and MS Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees compliance for grants and program related investments, payments and disbursement cycles.
• Supports the development and oversees standard terms and conditions for grant agreements.
• Creates program and management budgets and periodic financial ad hoc reports.
• Negotiates and facilitates sensitive issues in the grantmaking process.
• Ensures compliance with IRS regulations and foundation requirements for all grants and programs.
• Supports the preparation of grant related materials for the monthly docket as well as the Board book.
• Leads and manages all the team’s grant related projects and core activities; utilizing a robust project management system.
• Acts as a link between Grants Management and across the Foundation so that grant-related activities are smoothly implemented.
• Drafts and updates grant operations processes and procedures.
• Develops a standard project management methodology for the Grants Management team.
• Undertakes special projects as assigned or initiated.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
