This role converts an existing contractor relationship to a permanent staff position, bringing institutional knowledge, compliance ownership, and strategic prospecting capacity in-house.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Grant Portfolio Management
  • Serve as the primary owner of SVdP Louisville’s full grant portfolio — managing all deadlines, reporting requirements, funder relationships, and compliance obligations across federal, foundation, corporate, and local grants
  • Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar tracking application deadlines, reporting due dates, site visits, and funder communications
  • Collaborate with Finance and program staff to prepare accurate grant budgets, financial reports, and programmatic outcome documentation

  • Prepare regular grants pipeline and portfolio reports for the CAO and Finance team
Federal Compliance — in partnership with Compliance/QI
  • Ensure full compliance with federal grant requirements, including housing-related HUD or HHS-funded programs — including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance)
  • Coordinate with the Compliance/QI Manager on federal reporting sign-off, audit readiness, and regulatory documentation — the dotted-line relationship gives Compliance sign-off authority on federal compliance decisions
  • Support the Retail Pickup Program and other food programs by maintaining awareness of compliance requirements connected to Dare to Care and TEFAP-related grants
Funder Relationships & Portfolio Growth
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with program officers at existing foundation and government funders
  • Research and qualify new grant opportunities aligned with SVdP Louisville’s programs and strategic priorities
  • Write and submit 3–5 new grant applications annually to grow and diversify the grants portfolio
  • Contribute to the organization’s $5M sustainability campaign by identifying grant opportunities that support campaign goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-funder grant portfolios
  • Strong writing skills; ability to translate programmatic work into compelling grant narratives
  • Familiarity with federal compliance requirements including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) strongly preferred
  • Experience with housing, human services, or food security programs a plus
  • Proficiency with grant management software and/or donor database systems
  • High attention to detail; strong organizational and project management skills
  • Collaborative working style; ability to build relationships with program staff, Finance, Compliance, and external funders
