Job Responsibilities
- Manage pre‑ and post‑award activities for a diverse sponsor portfolio within the Infectious Diseases Division.
- Oversee account setup, closeout, and monitoring of all sponsored project expenditures, ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines and OMB Uniform Guidance.
- Advise Principal Investigators on financial issues related to their portfolios, including budget development and related pre‑award activities.
- Maintain salary grids and support payroll allocations to ensure faculty and staff are paid correctly; assist in the preparation of effort reports.
- Process payroll, effort reports, financial reporting, and reconcile budgets.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports for Principal Investigators.
- Participate in specific projects such as annual budget submissions, development and implementation of standard operating procedures, and training of grant staff.
- Engage in financial analysis and compliance monitoring for more complex grants, including training grants and program projects with multiple sub‑contractors (roles for Grants Manager B).
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree required.
- For Grants Manager A: 3–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience combination.
- For Grants Manager B: 5–7 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience combination.
- Strong organizational, data management and documentation skills; attentive to detail; ability to work independently and cooperatively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self‑motivation, strong work ethic, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proficiency in Excel or Access, familiarity with Ben Financial and Business Objects or similar financial software.
- Knowledge of grant submission coordination for pre‑award or post‑award within a research setting is preferred.
