Overview of Division
AJWS’s programs division works to build civil society in select countries in Africa, Central America and the Caribbean, and Asia by supporting non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), grassroots human rights groups, and larger social change organizations that are advancing human rights. AJWS partners with organizations that work on four critical issues: Sexual Health and Rights, Civil and Political Rights, Natural Resource Rights, Humanitarian Response. AJWS’s International Operations Department (IOPS) provides grants management support for a $15 million core grantmaking portfolio as well as additional grantmaking through a donor-advised fund. About the Position
The Grants Management Associate is responsible for supporting the grants management team in implementing AJWS’s core grantmaking portfolio. S/he is exceptionally systems-oriented with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. In collaboration with other IOPS colleagues, s/he works closely with program teams to administer hundreds of grants and liaises with the Finance Department to ensure that payments are made in a timely manner. The Grants Management Associate reports to the Associate Director of International Operations & Grants Management and works in conjunction with the entire Programs Division, as well as the larger organization, to ensure the effective management of AJWS’s core grantmaking. This position is a one-year fixed term with the potential to be extended.
