City of Thomasville is seeking a Grants Administrator responsible for securing and overseeing financial and administrative grants awarded to the City. The role requires researching funding sources, coordinating with departments, and timely submission of proposals.

The position collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer on budgetary and compliance matters, ensuring matching funds and proper grant agreement approvals. Strong record-keeping and potential budget assistance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or closely related field.
• Five (5) years of public grant administration/coordination, grant writing, budgeting, funding source research, project management, and PC operations; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with departments to identify project needs; researches grant programs; secures funding sources.
• Prepares grants; reviews applications with departments; submits proposals in a timely manner.
• Coordinates with Chief Financial Officer on budgetary, accountability, and compliance issues; ensures matching funds are available as needed.
• Works with City Attorney to ensure grant agreements are properly approved.
• Prepares schedule of grant expenditures for annual financial audit.
• Maintains detailed budget and financial records for all grants.
• Keeps departments updated on grant opportunities and compliance.
• Assists departments with annual budget and potential grant opportunities.
• Reviews and approves drawdown requests for reimbursement per grant requirements.
• Reviews and ensures compliance for grant budget amendments; may perform other accounting or financial analysis duties.
