Job summary

The City of New York seeks an Accountant – 40510 to support the Assistant Director with independent judgment. Responsibilities include bi-weekly transfers of capital expenditures, weekly transfers of capital commitments, research of capital invoices, and preparation of manual entries for management fees, operating transfers, and debt service.

The role also handles grant reconciliations, monthly bank reconciliations, asset additions/retirements, and preparation of reports for senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 24 accounting credits including advanced accounting and auditing
• New York State CPA license (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform bi-weekly transfers of capital expenditures within the Grants module to GL
• Complete weekly transfers of capital commitments within the Grants module
• Prepare journal entries for grants, management fees, and debt service
• Prepare monthly grants summaries and bank reconciliations
• Research and prepare reports for senior management
