Job summary

The School District of Philadelphia is seeking a Grants Development and Support Specialist I to secure monetary support from private foundations, government agencies, and other sources. You will research funding opportunities, coordinate the grant process with administrators, and ensure program compliance.

You will draft proposals, assist with workshops, submit applications, and monitor funding activities across city programs to advance the District’s priorities and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One year of full‑time professional experience as a Grants Development and Support Trainee.
• Alternatively, two years of full‑time professional experience including proposal writing, research analysis, and grant monitoring for compliance.

Responsibilities

• Researches public and private funding sources to align with District priorities and identify solicitation targets.
• Drafts concepts papers and funding proposals; interprets federal/state guidelines for applications.
• Assists in preparing grant summaries with funding source details and amounts.
• Advises administrators on grant proposal writing techniques during workshops.
• Prepares and submits grant proposals with input from program offices and external entities.
• Monitors program activities for compliance and reports to funding sources.
• Keeps abreast of legislative changes affecting proposals and funding opportunities.
• Generates periodic reports of grant activities for review by superiors.
