Job summary

University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a Business/Administrative Associate I to provide financial oversight for Rural Health Professions (RHTP) grants on-site in Rockford, IL. The role supports budgeting, reporting, and compliance with sponsor and university requirements.

The candidate will manage subawards, prepare projections, and coordinate with funding agencies and partner organizations. A bachelor's degree and 2 years’ experience are required, with HRSA/federal grant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business/related field.
• Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
• Additional education or work experience in grants/contracts management or accounting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day financial oversight of the RHTP grant and related awards.
• Develop, monitor, reconcile, and forecast grant budgets and expenditures.
• Monitor grant spending for variances, risks, and compliance; propose corrective actions.
• Prepare financial reports, projections, and analyses for leadership and funders.
• Review expenditures for allowability, allocability, and sponsor compliance.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor requirements, University policies, and 2 CFR 200/HRSA regs.
• Manage subaward administration: documentation, tracking, invoicing, monitoring.
• Track contract payments milestones and closeout activities.
• Coordinate with university offices and partners on grant matters.
• Support audits, monitoring activities, and grant closeouts.
• Develop systems to track budgets, contracts, and reporting deadlines.
• Serve as primary administrative liaison for RHTP financial matters.
