Heartland Family Service is seeking a grant writer to prospect, evaluate, and monitor funding opportunities. You will develop and write compelling proposals and budgets in collaboration with agency partners and senior leadership, ensuring timely grant submissions and alignment with program needs.
The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 3–5 years of grant-writing experience, strong MS Excel and Word skills, and the ability to coordinate across departments to secure funding.

Prospect, evaluate and monitor agency funding opportunities and fit, assist the Director of Contract and Grants, Grant Project Manager, Chief Development Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Vice Presidents (VPs), Compliance Team, Fiscal Team, and Program Team in meeting priority funding needs and opportunity windows. Develop and write compelling grant proposals in collaboration with agency partners and community partners. Develop proposal budgets in collaboration with fiscal and program staff. Participate in grant proposal and grant management processes as needed. Collaborate effectively with Grant Project Manager and Director of Contract and Grants. Communicate effectively and proactively with grants, compliance, program, fiscal and other agency staff. Requires daily decision-making, analysis, problem solving, and ongoing corporate task prioritization.
Compensation: salary is determined by total years of relevant experience (to be discussed upon interview)
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
