Job summary

The California State University, Bakersfield is seeking a staff member to handle post-award administration and compliance for multiple awards. You will review budgets, terms, and reporting requirements, ensuring expenditures align with sponsor and university policies.

Responsibilities include quarterly reviews, monthly budget-to-actual analyses, and coordination with PIs and staff to maintain financial integrity across awards.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field with two years of relevant experience; more may substitute for education.
• Experience in pre-award budgeting, post-award administration, and compliance is required or highly preferred.
• Advanced degrees may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Review awards and contracts to understand budgets, terms, reporting, and cost-share obligations.
• Analyze post-award transactions for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, and compliance.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate with senior staff for corrective actions.
• Schedule quarterly budget/compliance reviews with PIs and project staff.
• Prepare monthly budget-to-actual reports and advise on spending trends.
• Prepare fund transfers, journal entries, and monitor indirect costs and documentation.
