The Opportunity...
The Grant Administrator– Workforce Development supports the Grant Manager and the Government Development Team in implementing, tracking, and administering grant initiatives across GRID’s national and regional programs. This role ensures seamless coordination between internal departments, supports timely and accurate submissions, and contributes to the success of workforce development and clean energy Equity programs.
All responsibilities are carried out under the direction and guidance of the Grant Manager.

Responsibilities:
Grant Administration & Tracking

  • Assist with maintaining organized and up-to-date records of active grants, including deadlines, deliverables, and correspondence with funders.
  • Support the tracking of reporting timelines, grant spending, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate across departments (program, finance, development) to collect accurate documentation and ensure reporting compliance.
  • Attend internal team meetings and contribute to planning discussions as directed by the Grant Manager.

Proposal & Reporting Support

  • Assist in researching new funding opportunities and preparing grant reports and renewals.
  • Gather narratives, metrics, and supporting documentation to support strong, funder-aligned proposals.
  • Work with the Grant Manager to ensure applications and reports meet guidelines and deadlines.

Compliance & Monitoring

  • Help to support by ensuring adherence to grant requirements, including cost allowability and documentation standards.
  • Support audits, monitoring visits, and other funder or internal compliance activities as needed.
  • Support the Grant Manager with budgeting, invoicing, and expense tracking to ensure accurate and timely grant reporting and a balanced programmatic budget.
  • Assist in preparing detailed reports for funders and internal stakeholders while contributing to the development of more efficient grant management processes.

General programmatic support

  • Draft and organize materials for internal and external meetings.
  • Create agendas, take notes, and follow up on action items to ensure effective management.
  • Utilize tools such as Salesforce, Asana, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office to streamline workflow and communication.
  • Assist with integrated initiatives that involve development, workforce, operations, and external stakeholders.
  • Support event planning, coordination, and execution.

What you need to bring to this role...

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, identify and resolve problems promptly, and gather and analyze information skillfully
  • 2+ years of experience in grants coordination, administration, or development.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of or interest in workforce development, clean energy, or economic justice.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce, Canva, and Asana is a plus.
  • Commitment to Equity, Inclusion, and Environmental Justice.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity at all times.

It would be great if you also had...

  • Experience supporting government grants and compliance processes.
  • Knowledge of workforce development best practices.
  • Background or interest in HR or workforce training is a plus.

*Hired CA candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP.

Where you will sit & the places you may go…
This position may require 10%-25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects. Availability to work nights and weekends may be required.
GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($29- $35 per hour), plus the benefits listed below.
