What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage and provide oversight for sponsored projects/contracts from award initiation through closeout
- Collaborate with principal investigators (PIs) on project progress, making recommendations as necessary
- Interpret and educate on granting laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Initiate and facilitate the grant proposal preparation and submission process
- Advise PIs on budget management, research compliance issues, and grant opportunities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience in grants administration, including at least one (1) year of program management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and manage budgets and financial reports
- Experience with Pre- and Post-Award Grants administration in a higher education environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
- Experience managing or leading sponsored projects and contracts administration in a large research university setting
- Knowledge of State, Board of Governors, and University policies and procedures
- Experience with accounting and financial calculations
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations
