Claims Conference in New York, NY is seeking an Accounting Associate on the RED team in the Allocations Department. This hybrid role requires two days in the office in Manhattan and offers growth within a nonprofit that supports Holocaust survivors worldwide.

The role focuses on grant-related financial analysis and administrative support to Program Officers, demanding detail-orientation, organization, and strong analytical skills for multi-currency budgeting and report review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or equivalent work experience.
• Strong quantitative skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent English written and verbal skills.
• Experience with accounting or bookkeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing grant program budgets.
• Reviewing and analyzing grant reports and payment requests for accuracy and budgetary compliance.
• Analyzing and converting expenses in multiple currencies and languages.
• Using formulas and pivot tables in Excel to analyze budget and expense reports.
• Communicating effectively.
• Completing other tasks as assigned.
