Job summary

The Claims Conference in New York City is seeking a Grant Accounting Associate in the Finance department. This hybrid role requires two days in the Manhattan office and involves processing grant allocation payments and supporting quarterly reconciliations.

You will work with the grant payment process to ensure accurate and timely payments, maintain grant records, and assist with reports for audits. A bachelor’s degree in accounting and solid communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of accounting experience or equivalent professional experience.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Adobe Systems and ERP Systems Experience in SAP a bonus.
• Ability to multi task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Display a sense of urgency in meeting deadlines

Responsibilities

• Process grant allocation payments in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established procedures;
• Resolve issues with payment discrepancies;
• Prepare and keep up to date paperwork as it relates to grant allocation payments;
• Request funds as needed for approved payments;
• Enter payments wires into banking system when applicable;
• Record notices of grant cancellations into the accounting grant tracking system ACAL;
• Keep track of cancelled grants worksheets and update appropriately;
• Assist with quarterly reconciliation of accounting and allocation databases;
• Assist with preparation of reports as needed for annual audit;
• Assist with additional reports and projects as needed
