Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a Grants Accountant to perform professional accounting tasks in the district’s financial system, ensuring accurate payroll, benefits, and year-end projections. You will maintain complex accounting records, prepare monthly statements, analyze expenditures, and provide guidance on base budgets and fiscal matters to LCPS staff.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required; two years’ payroll/HRMS/Oracle experience and advanced Excel skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
GAAP knowledge and its practical application.
Ability to produce complex accounting reports; analyze data.
Advanced Excel skills.
Familiarity with VRS (Virginia Retirement System) preferred.
Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepares monthly, year-end projections of disbursements and balances for payroll, benefits, and insurance accounts.
Maintains financial records and submits reimbursement requests to the State.
Uses financial software to prepare monthly statements and projection reports.
Maintains fixed asset records and reconciles records to actual assets on hand.
Reconciles and posts bi-weekly payroll data to the financial system.
Provides counsel to LCPS staff on budgets and fiscal areas.
