Job summary

cdcb is seeking an Associate Grant Writer to support our resource development efforts through research, grant proposal writing, reporting, and impact storytelling from our Brownsville, TX office.

You will draft proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and narrative reports, coordinate with program and finance staff to gather information, monitor deadlines, and help maintain a funding opportunity pipeline.

Qualifications

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff across departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online research tools.

Responsibilities

• Draft grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and funding applications.
• Develop needs statements, program descriptions, implementation plans, and impact narratives.
• Tailor proposals to funder priorities and requirements.
• Prepare first drafts of grant reports and progress updates.
• Assist with budgets and budget narratives with finance staff.
• Revise content based on feedback from the Resource Development Manager.
• Research grant opportunities and monitor funder websites and databases.
• Prepare prospect summaries and recommendation memos.
• Coordinate data collection for proposals and reports.
• Track deadlines and organize grant files and documentation.
