Job summary

Educational Alliance (EA) seeks an experienced Grant Writer to develop, coordinate, and manage proposals, reports, and communications to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies in New York. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, you will collaborate with program staff and finance to create budgets and outcomes for funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years grant writing or fundraising experience.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising databases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, narrative reports, and related materials aligned with funder priorities.
• Identify and research prospective funding opportunities and develop engagement strategies.
• Manage a portfolio of grants, including renewals, reporting, and compliance tracking.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders to gather input, review submissions, and secure approvals.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all grant documentation and submissions.
• Maintain records of all funder interactions and submissions in tracking systems.
• Support budgeting processes by sharing key deadlines and financial reporting requirements for institutional funding revenue.
• Coordinate and support funder site visits and relationship management activities, including preparing senior program staff to meet with donors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective funders
• Develop a strong working knowledge of research, literature, and current news informing the programmatic fields in your portfolio.
• Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the team and agency.
