Job summary

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is seeking a Grant Writer to develop, submit, and steward proposals and reports. You will collaborate with philanthropy, program, finance, marketing, and leadership teams to align funder priorities with our mission.

The role emphasizes strong writing, donor stewardship, and timely submissions while engaging with a variety of funders to expand support for hunger relief across 46 counties in Tennessee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of grant writing or related experience.
• Excellent written communication and storytelling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Write, submit, and steward grant proposals and related funding requests.
• Draft and submit timely reports, stewardship updates, and impact summaries.
• Understand hunger issues in Middle and West Tennessee and organization programs.
• Identify and research new funding opportunities from various funders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate priorities into fundable proposals.
• Review grant proposals and funder-facing materials for accuracy and completeness.
• Engage with funders to build and sustain relationships.
