Job summary

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is seeking a full-time Coordinator in the External Affairs Department to engage the community, raise awareness, and generate support for the organization.

The role coordinates planning, implementation, tracking, and stewardship of virtual and traditional food drives, as well as peer-to-peer fundraising, while providing administrative support for signature events and community engagement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate traditional food drives, including registration, materials, logistics, donor communication, and post-drive follow-up.
• Collaborate with organizations, partners, media, and staff to support large-scale drives.
• Support planning and execution of major drives and community campaigns.
• Coordinate virtual food drives and manage outreach, onboarding, and stewardship.
• Coordinate peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns and monitor progress.
• Provide event support for signature and third-party events; assist with logistics and sponsorships.
• Support community engagement activities and department collaboration to advance initiatives.
