Job summary

Grant Associates is seeking a Grant Writer and Communications Coordinator in New York to craft grant proposals, RFP responses, blogs, and white papers for diverse audiences. You will distill technical language for broad audiences and manage multiple deadlines in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related field with 3-5 years of related experience (including grant writing).
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and oral communications skills for multiple audiences and mediums.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and respond to shifting priorities with independent judgment.
  • Strong organization, teamwork and service mindset; ability to distill complex language into customer-friendly terms.
  • Understanding of sales/marketing processes and supporting materials (grant/RFP responses, presentations, blogs, white papers); proficiency with MS Office and digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare grant proposals and RFP responses with high quality and clarity.
  • Develop communications materials such as blogs, white papers and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
  • Leverage Wordpress, MailChimp and marketing automation to support campaigns.

Job Description
  • The Grant Writer and Communications Coordinator will be required to have a bachelors degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field and 3-5 years of related experience (including grant writing experience) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, effective teamwork, and strong service mentality.
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills.

  • Ability to distill industry/subject matter-specific language into customer-friendly language.

  • Experience working with data, infographics, or data visualization experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with workforce development and/or economic development preferred.
