Job Title: Grant Writer / Grants Consultant

Reports To: Executive Leadership / Program Director

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Contract – Up to 15 hours weekly

Position Summary:

We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writer / Grants Consultant to support the

development of compelling, evidence-based proposals that secure funding for mission-driven social

service programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong writing, research, and analytical skills,

a proactive mindset, and a deep understanding of grant terminology, program metrics, and nonprofit

funding.

Key Responsibilities:

● Research, write, and submit persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and cover

letters aligned with funder priorities.

● Translate program data and budget information into clear, compelling narratives.

● Maintain and track tasks and deadlines using the ClickUp platform.

● Collaborate with program staff and leadership to gather program insights and evaluation metrics.

● Ensure all submitted materials meet high accuracy, clarity, and alignment with organizational

values.

● Contribute to post-submission activities, including reporting, funder communication, and

evaluation.

Required Knowledge & Expertise:

● Familiarity with social services and nonprofit programming terminology.

● Understanding of grant lifecycles, proposal components, and outcome-based funding.

● Experience using metrics to support program outcomes in grant narratives.

● Working knowledge of platforms such as ClickUp or similar project management tools.

Required Skills:

● Proven ability to write clear, persuasive, and evidence-backed narratives.

● Ability to analyze budgets and extract key data for use in proposals.

● Strong problem-solving approach: proactively researching and proposing solutions.

● Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a professional and

respectful tone.

● Conflict resolution skills and a calm, confident presence.
