Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for Marquette L. Walker Ministries. This role requires strong writing skills, an understanding of funding processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and private organizations.
- Analyze funding priorities and guidelines to determine alignment with organizational programs.
2. Proposal Development:
- Write, edit, and assemble grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather relevant information and data for proposals.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals.
- Track the status of submitted proposals and follow up as needed.
4. Reporting:
- Prepare and submit required reports to funding agencies, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Collaborate with finance and program staff to gather financial and performance data for reporting.
5. Networking and Relationship Building:
- Cultivate relationships with funders and other stakeholders to foster partnerships and collaboration.
- Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and meetings to stay informed about funding trends and best practices.
6. Maintain Records:
- Keep accurate records of all grant proposals, submissions, and communications with funding sources.
- Update organizational databases and tracking systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of funded proposals.
- Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
- Knowledge of grant funding processes and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
