This position will support schools in implementing and sustaining Tier 1 of a Multi-Tiered Systemof Supports (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)framework with fidelity. Responsibilities include coaching, training,data analysis, systems development, and continuous improvement support.

We anticipate hiring one part-time specialist by October 2026 and two additional part-time specialists by July 2027.

Extensive travel required, sometimes overnight.

Job Summary

The PART-TIMEGrant Specialist I will work in grant-funded projects within the Center for Research to Practice in Education (CRPE) at Southern Miss. Currently, this role includes extensive work with the Mississippi State Personnel Development Grant (REACH MS) to support Educator Preparation Programs around the state in the development of Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Programs in Special Education. The Grant Specialist I will provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to educator preparation programs, districts, mentors, and workforce partners. The specialist will help align coursework, field experiences, mentorship, candidate assessment, and program approval processes with evidence-based practices and state requirements while supporting implementation fidelity, continuous improvement, sustainability, and statewide scaling.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based professional learning, technical assistance, and coaching to educators and other participants involved in state and federally funded grant initiatives.
• Support implementation of grant-funded activities by assisting schools, districts, and partner organizations in implementing evidence-based practices with fidelity.
• Provide coaching and consultation using established implementation frameworks, coaching models, and project procedures.
• Assist participants in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing implementation, fidelity, and outcome data to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
• Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with educators, administrators, families, community partners, and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with planning, coordination, and implementation of meetings, trainings, conferences, and other project activities.
• Collect, organize, and maintain project documentation, implementation records, participation data, and other information required for grant reporting and evaluation.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, dissemination materials, and other project deliverables in accordance with grant requirements.
• Ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in compliance with university, state, federal, and sponsor policies, procedures, and grant requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master'sdegree from an accredited college or university in education, specialeducation, behavioral sciences, psychology, counseling, social work, or arelated field; or an equivalent combination of education and directly relatedprofessional experience.
• Two (2)years of experience providing educational, behavioral, instructional, orrelated services in PK–12 educational settings.
• Current,valid Mississippi teaching license or eligibility to obtain such licensurewithin six (6) months of employment.
